Dear Brink,
In order to be united as one body(band)in christ, the band cannot be devided amongst itself. If a band is going to be effective in sharing the gospel, all the members must be faithful in prayer and continue in perserverance. Remember that the disciples that Jesus chose had nothing to boast about. One was a hated tax collector, another was a fisherman etc. Ask your fellow band member if he loves the God who created him and died for him. If he says yes, tell him that the only way to love God is to love others(feed His lambs), if he says he doesn't love God he needs a lot of prayer and love but in this case should not be playing with the band.

If he still wants to play with yu guys, let him. I mean, what are the chances of him coming back to God of you keep playing together and what are the chances of him coming back if you stop playing together.
Have prayer with the band. And have the band pray for this particular person in the band. You may feel silly at first but we all should do this. If he is a deadbeat who just doesn't care and shows no interest in getting back where he is supposed to be, drop him.
You're welcome,
Sis. Jess

My thoughts are a cross between the above responses (122 and 332). Let him continue to play, practice as you normally would, and most importantly - PRAY together. 332 said, "In order to be united as one body(band)in christ, the band cannot be devided amongst itself." In that same train of thought, maybe you should consider cutting out doing gigs for a while until things get better. Focus on the well-being of the group before the well-being of others. Satan doesn't play by the rules and will "kick you when you're down" at your most vulnerable point. Whatever ministry you attempt to do will return little or no results unless your all united under Christ. Just a thought. Hope and pray all gets better.
In Christ,
Shaun W.
